The detention center operates around the clock, but that does not mean records copying is available 24 hours a day. The sheriff has not published a separate booking-record form, photo-copy fee, records-unit direct line, production deadline, or retention period. Begin with the main office. Give the person’s name, approximate booking date, booking number if known, and a precise description of the booking sheet or photograph requested. Avoid putting unnecessary sensitive details in a general contact message.

Choose the Correct Records Route

  • For the county roster, recent releases, booking-photo availability, and request steps, use the Elmore County home guide, then confirm with the sheriff.
  • For a wanted notice or warrant concern, read Most Wanted Fugitives. The sheriff has no verified public countywide warrant database; the issuing court, clerk, counsel, or sheriff is the verification route.
  • For Millbrook police records, start with Millbrook Police Department, 3950 Grandview Road, 334-285-5603, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
  • For Wetumpka arrest reports, the City Clerk is the city’s Public Records Officer. Use the city’s written form by mail to P.O. Box 1180, Wetumpka, AL 36092, or in person at 408 South Main Street, weekdays 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
  • For Tallassee police records, start with Tallassee Police Department, 214 Barnett Boulevard, 334-283-6586, or the City Clerk at 3 Freeman Avenue, 334-283-6571. Confirm whether Elmore or Tallapoosa County handled the booking.
  • For a sentenced Alabama prisoner, use the official Alabama Department of Corrections inmate search. It is separate from the county jail roster.
  • For federal custody, use the Federal Bureau of Prisons locator. For immigration custody, use the ICE detainee locator. Neither is an Elmore County booking-record service.

Crime-tip and emergency channels are not public-record request lines. Use 911 for an immediate danger; use the sheriff’s published tip channel only for tips, not for routine record inquiries.
